FCC Targets 19 Million Rural Americans

Asheville, NC (August 2, 2012) — The FCC is reforming the Universal Service Fund (USF) into the Connect America Fund to focus on broadband. This is a recognition that broadband has become a necessity for American families. The goal is to expand high speed Internet to millions of consumers across the country. MCNC finishes first phase of Golden LEAF Rural Broadband Initiative

Raleigh, NC (April 27, 2012) – MCNC announced today that the first round of the Golden LEAF Rural Broadband Initiative (GLRBI) is complete. This is an incredible accomplishment for the MCNC and the State, and the ERC congratulates them on this success. As a subrecipient to MCNC in the second round of the GLRBI, the ERC is happy to be a partner and participant in this groundbreaking effort.
